Ayelia and Alistar hatched an escape plan, freeing Alistar and Ayelia from the hands of Noxus. Strength: Minotaurs like Alistar are naturally stronger than most other races, and Alistar is stronger than most Minotaurs, being known as a strong and fierce warrior even before fighting in the arenas of Noxus.Īfter being captured and turned into a Reckoner for the various arenas of the Noxian capital, Ayelia would visit Alistar in his cage every day and speak kindly to him.Despite this, Alistar has a kind heart, and is intent on finding Ayelia at all costs, as she was one of the few people who showed kindness to him. He is angry, wanting Noxus to fall and inciting rebellion in Noxuian territories. He wears nothing but a loincloth around his waist and unbound cuffs on his wrists.Īlistar is a fighter, and his goal is to fight against Noxus in the name of all he has lost and all those that have lost much too. He is very muscular, with a disproportionately large torso and arms. He continues to look for Ayelia, and will stop at nothing until he finds her.Īlistar is a purple skinned Minotaur with blue hair, red eyes, and large, white horns. Weeks later, a a political coup shook the empire and the arena Minotaur's escape was forgotten.Īlistar continues to travel through Noxian-held territories, inciting rebellion and fighting for the oppressed wherever he goes. He fled south on foot instead, searching everywhere for Ayelia, but he found nothing. Although Ayelia called out to him, he did not hear her, as he was too focused on his rage.īy the time Alistar had slain their attackers, the boat was gone, and Ayelia with it. Alistar hurled himself into battle to protect Ayelia. However, as they boarded, Noxian agents burst from the shadows. They hurried to a river, where a cargo barge awaited them. One night, Ayelia brought Alistar the key to his cell, and they executed the plan that they had made. They made a plan to escape, and Alistar realized that for the first time in years, he could remember his home without thinking of what he had lost. Alistar learned that Ayelia's homeland had also been claimed by Noxus, and that seeing his suffering had convinced her they should leave the city together. She returned every day and spoke to him with gentle respect until Alistar answered the same way. At first, he bellowed and charged the bars of his cage, expecting her to fear or goad him like everybody else that visited his cages had done, but Ayelia instead treated him with kindness.
One day Ayelia, a servant girl in one of the arenas, visited him in his cage. Afterwards, he was made to fight more and more, turning him into a savage person. Despite telling his warriors to not fight back and please the crowds of the arenas, Alistar was the last Minotaur standing after the festival ended. Despite killing Lady Tewain along with many Noxians and other Minotaurs, Alistar and his surviving warriors were captured and moved to the capital of Noxus, accused of inciting rebellion.Īlistar and his fellow warriors were cast as Reckoners in the arenas of the city for a twenty-one day festival of non-stop fights. Their representatives turned against him and fought against Alistar and his warriors along with Noxus. When Alistar arrived and made his position clear, he found out that the larger clans had already pledged themselves to Noxus. His clan sent him to meet Tewain, along with fifty of their mightiest warriors, to reject any alliance on behalf of their clan. While many of the Minotaurs were eager to accept her offer and join Noxus, seeing this as a way to gain the power and recognition they sought, Alistar remained skeptical, for he had encountered Noxian scouts previously, and he knew them to be duplicitous and cunning people. However, she pledged that they would not do this without the support of the Minotaur clans. The emissary of Noxus, the matriarch of House Tewain, said that the empire was poised to take Basilich, a coastal city to the east. The empire of Noxus came to the Great Barrier, requesting a parley with representatives from the clans. However, many saw Minotaurs as little more than beasts, which soured any interaction and kept the clans as outsiders. Despite this, he always urged his kin to forge greater bonds with other races. These clans protected the overland trade routes to Zaun, and they preferred to avoid Valoran's wider conflicts.Īlistar was known as a noble warrior and was respected among all the clans. Alistar grew up in the Minotaur clans of the Great Barrier mountains.
